Three Trends in Executive Search for 2022

We all know that the past 24 months have changed our lives, including at work. According to a new report, “employees are now starting to ask human questions about the work they perform. Why am I doing this? What is it for? How can we do it better? …It is all making the competition to attract, recruit, train, and retain new talent fiercer than ever…An organization is only as good as the people it employs; those organizations that want to survive and thrive in 2022 will need to respond to the new power dynamic in kind.” Here are three trends we predict will continue through 2022:

1. Virtual/Remote Recruiting

When the pandemic first hit, recruiters quickly pivoted to virtual interviews and this trend will continue. On the plus side, it allows for shorter timeframes for our clients, as travel schedules don’t need to be coordinated. Additionally, it reduces travel expenses. We have risen to the challenge to present comprehensive explanations of client culture, and office aesthetics to candidates, who may not see the offices of our clients until final interviews.

2. Candidate Driven Market

Candidates know they are in demand and are taking the time to weigh their options. They are more interested in what our clients can offer in terms of employee well-being, including the option of remote work/flexibility, more vacation time, flex days, or wellness initiatives.

3. Counteroffers will be common

More often, we are seeing candidates receiving multiple offers, as well as counteroffers upon resignation. We know how to handle these delicate situations, and if your company is serious about finding the best talent, you need seasoned executive search specialists on your side to navigate these waters with prospective candidates. We aim to find the right candidates for our clients so that everyone is happy with the outcome of a search.
