About the Role

Our client, a well-established and highly respected organization in the defence/manufacturing sector in the London, Ontario area, is seeking a Tax Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of corporate tax across its Canadian operations.

This is a high-impact role that sits at the intersection of finance, legal, and executive leadership, with visibility across both domestic and international operations. The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing complex tax matters, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and proactively advising on tax strategy, risk mitigation, and planning initiatives.

Beyond compliance, this role offers the opportunity to influence broader business decisions by translating complex tax concepts into actionable insights for non-tax stakeholders. You will partner closely with senior leadership, auditors, and external advisors while playing a key role in optimizing tax structures, improving reporting processes, and supporting long-term strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all corporate tax compliance activities across Canadian and international jurisdictions
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies aligned with business objectives
• Manage tax provisions, reporting, and forecasting processes
• Oversee transfer pricing, cross-border transactions, and related documentation
• Act as the primary liaison with auditors, tax authorities, and external advisors
• Identify and communicate tax risks, exposures, and opportunities to leadership
• Monitor legislative changes and ensure ongoing compliance
• Support audits, respond to tax notices, and resolve disputes
• Drive continuous improvement in tax processes, systems, and reporting
• Mentor and support junior team members

Ideal Candidate Profile

• CPA designation with completion of the In-Depth Tax Course or Master’s in Tax
• 5+ years of progressive experience in Canadian corporate tax
• Exposure to international tax and transfer pricing (strong asset)
• Proven ability to communicate complex tax matters to non-tax stakeholders
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working cross-functionally within a corporate environment
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Compensation Package

• Base salary range: $140-150K, commensurate with experience

Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and overall fit.
