About the Role

This is a newly created leadership opportunity with a well-established organization in the London area operating within the distribution and industrial supply sector. Supporting a large network of locations across Canada, the organization is seeking a National Health & Safety Leader to elevate and standardize health and safety practices across a decentralized operating environment.

Reporting to senior leadership, the National Health & Safety Leader will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive national safety strategy that promotes a proactive safety culture, strengthens compliance, and reduces organizational risk. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to both executive and regional leadership teams, helping drive continuous improvement initiatives while balancing governance with operational flexibility.

The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of health and safety program development, training, inspections, incident management, product safety and recalls, regulatory compliance, and performance reporting. Leveraging data, analytics, and technology, they will identify trends, implement preventative measures, and ensure consistent safety standards across multiple locations nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and execute a national health and safety strategy aligned with organizational goals and risk management objectives
* Foster a proactive safety culture across multiple locations while supporting a decentralized operating model
* Design and implement health and safety training programs, ensuring compliance and accessibility across the organization
* Establish and maintain national health and safety policies, procedures, and standards
* Monitor and ensure compliance with federal and provincial occupational health and safety legislation
* Lead workplace inspection programs, hazard identification initiatives, and corrective action processes
* Oversee incident reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, and preventative action planning
* Coordinate product safety alerts and recall processes across multiple locations
* Develop safety dashboards, KPIs, and executive-level reporting to support informed decision-making
* Partner with leadership teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and risk reduction

Ideal Candidate Profile

* Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or a related discipline
* CRSP designation or equivalent professional certification is considered an asset
* 5+ years of progressive health and safety leadership experience
* Experience supporting multiple locations, branches, or regional operations
* Background within distribution, logistics, industrial, manufacturing, or related environments
* Strong knowledge of Canadian occupational health and safety legislation and reporting requirements
* Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive change without direct authority
* Strong analytical, reporting, and data interpretation skills
* Experience implementing technology and systems to improve health and safety effectiveness
* Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building capabilities

Compensation Package

* Base Salary: $90,000 - $100,000
