About the Role
We are partnered with a well-established, multi-disciplinary construction organization in the Waterloo area seeking a hands-on, detail-driven Controller to support day-to-day financial operations while helping drive the next phase of the company’s growth. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, project-based environment and enjoys balancing transactional oversight with meaningful financial analysis, operational support, and team leadership.
Reporting to the VP Finance, the Controller will oversee core accounting processes, strengthen month-end and reporting workflows, and ensure financial accuracy across a high-volume mix of institutional, commercial, industrial, and residential construction projects. With a new ERP system launching in January, the incoming leader will play a key role in optimizing data inputs, validating job-level results from site teams, and improving financial visibility across the organization.
For a candidate who is hands-on, analytical, and eager to build stronger financial tools and processes, this role offers the chance to make a significant operational impact while growing into broader FP&A, budgeting, and strategic financial responsibilities.
