About the Role

We are conducting a search for a Chief Financial Officer on behalf of a well-established, privately held manufacturing organization in the Southwestern Ontario area. This is a highly visible and strategic leadership role, partnering directly with the CEO and Board to shape the financial direction and long-term growth of the business.

Operating in a complex, multi-site North American environment, the organization has experienced strong growth and continues to scale both organically and through strategic initiatives. The incoming CFO will play a transformational role—elevating financial infrastructure, strengthening reporting and controls, and building a forward-looking, data-driven finance function that supports enterprise-wide decision-making.

This is not a maintenance CFO role. It is a build-and-evolve mandate. The successful candidate will bring structure, discipline, and commercial insight to a business that is poised for its next phase of growth. You will act as a true business partner to operations, sales, and executive leadership, while also supporting Board-level reporting, investor expectations, and strategic initiatives including potential acquisitions and system enhancements.

The role offers the opportunity to step into a well-positioned organization with strong market presence, where finance can materially influence performance, scalability, and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary financial partner to the CEO and Board, providing clear, actionable insights to support strategic decision-making
• Lead the development and execution of the company’s financial strategy, aligned with growth and operational priorities
• Oversee all aspects of financial stewardship, including accounting, reporting, tax, audit, treasury, and compliance
• Build and enhance financial reporting capabilities, including Board-level reporting packages and performance dashboards
• Establish a disciplined FP&A function, driving forecasting accuracy, budgeting processes, and forward-looking analysis
• Partner cross-functionally with operations and supply chain to improve cost visibility, margin performance, and plant-level decision-making
• Drive improvements in working capital, cash flow management, and capital allocation discipline
• Lead and develop a scalable finance team across multiple locations, ensuring strong bench strength and succession planning
• Improve ERP utilization and reduce reliance on manual processes, enhancing data integrity and reporting efficiency
• Support strategic initiatives including acquisitions, integrations, and broader business transformation efforts

Ideal Candidate Profile

• CPA designation, with a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business; MBA considered an asset
• Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role (CFO, VP Finance, or equivalent) within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong expertise in cost accounting, operational finance, and multi-site business environments
• Demonstrated experience working with Boards, investors, or external stakeholders, ideally within a private equity-backed setting
• Track record of building or evolving finance functions, including FP&A, reporting, and controls
• Strong business acumen with the ability to connect financial insights to operational and commercial outcomes
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams across multiple regions
• Hands-on yet strategic leadership style, with the ability to move between detail and enterprise-level thinking
• High level of integrity, sound judgement, and the confidence to challenge constructively
• Thrives in an evolving, growth-oriented environment where building structure and driving change is required

Why Consider This Opportunity?

• True seat at the table with direct exposure to the CEO and Board
• Opportunity to shape and elevate the finance function within a growing organization
• Broad scope across strategy, operations, and financial leadership—not just reporting
• Ability to make a tangible impact on performance, scalability, and long-term value creation
• Work within a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment that values practical, results-oriented leadership
• Exposure to multi-site operations and cross-border business dynamics

Vacancy

This position is open as part of a planned leadership transition, with the current CFO moving into a different role within the organization.

Compensation Package

A competitive executive compensation package will be offered, including base salary, performance-based bonus, and long-term incentive components. Details will be shared with qualified candidates during the process.
